Into the light I cried,

eyes shut stranger surroundings

where was that warm and comfortable space?

Took my first step,

muscles were weak to support this weight of mine.

So again I tried, and tried

I was soon found to be near mama's arm.

Scent of milk was nearby,

I suckled for milk while fatigue muscles had to rest.

Strangely I felt someone over me, fighting

for the similar goal which set my muscles exhausted,

I gave in, moved away to another source of milk.

Peace and serenity said from the voices I hear,

I do not know who the author was but I knew they were looking.

As I suckled on mama's food,

Mama told me someday you gotta' go my child

someday we will be apart, independence is key.

Confused, I turned a deaf ear and fell asleep.

Why would I be separated from mama?

Silly old woman I thought to my innocent self.

Week after weeks,

I became stronger and bigger.

Hands brought me up and down,

away from mama, away from food, away from sleep.

Till this couple came,

Mama whispered

"Honey bun, they'll take you to a better place. They'll be your new mama"

Angry with mama, I crawled away from her

I had no tears to shed but I was in pain

"Why would she say that to hurt me so deep?"

Drowned with thoughts,

I slept it off denying mama's hurtful words.

Cause mama in your arms is where I want to be.
